EU Cities Gateway delegation visits FLEXOO in Heidelberg

International exchange on innovation, energy systems and Physical AI

Today, FLEXOO welcomed an international delegation as part of the EU Cities Gateway initiative, bringing together representatives from European and North American cities to explore innovative technologies, foster collaboration, and exchange ideas on future-focused urban and industrial challenges.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase how FLEXOO’s flexible sensor technology and Physical AI solutions can contribute to safer, smarter, and more sustainable infrastructure and industrial systems.

Hands-on insights into FLEXOO technology

The delegation experienced FLEXOO’s technology through a series of interactive demonstrations, allowing participants to see and test real-world applications firsthand.

During the visit, FLEXOO presented selected use cases in:

  • Battery monitoring and safety
  • Leakage detection for batteries, industrial systems, and energy infrastructure
  • Physical AI and tactile sensing for robotics and industrial automation

The demonstrations highlighted how printed, highly scalable sensor systems can generate valuable real time data, enabling better decision-making, improved efficiency, and enhanced safety across a wide range of applications.

Discussing regional challenges and opportunities

A key focus of the exchange was understanding the priorities and challenges faced by the participating regions.

Together with the delegation, FLEXOO explored topics such as:

  • Energy infrastructure resilience
  • Industrial digitalization
  • Sustainable mobility and energy storage
  • Advanced manufacturing and automation
  • Opportunities for pilot projects and technology adoption

The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between cities, innovation ecosystems, industry, and technology providers to accelerate the deployment of emerging solutions.

Building connections through the EU Cities Gateway

The EU Cities Gateway programme creates a valuable platform for connecting local governments, innovation leaders, and businesses across Europe and North America.

For FLEXOO, the visit was an opportunity not only to present its technology portfolio but also to establish new relationships, identify potential collaboration opportunities, and explore future innovation projects with stakeholders from different regions.

Looking ahead

We would like to thank the EU Cities Gateway delegation and all participating representatives for the engaging discussions and their interest in FLEXOO’s technology.

We look forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring future opportunities to support safer energy systems, smarter infrastructure, and the next generation of Physical AI applications.
