FLEXOO at electronica 2026
2026-11-03
Two applications, one focus: better access to physical data
At electronica 2026 in Munich, FLEXOO will present two applications that show how flexible sensing can provide new insights into critical systems. Our award-winning leakage detection solution will be featured in the LOPEC Innovation Showcase, while Dr. Jean-Charles Flores will present our latest findings on pressure monitoring as an additional source of data for battery intelligence. electronica takes place from November 10 to 13, 2026 at Messe MĂĽnchen.
Award-winning leakage detection at the Innovation Showcase
FLEXOO’s leakage detection solution received the OE-A Award “Best Prototype & New Product” from the Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A) for its technological innovation and application relevance. At electronica, the demonstrator will now be presented as part of the LOPEC Innovation Showcase at the West Entrance, where selected prototypes and product innovations in printed and flexible electronics will be on display throughout the event.
The solution uses ultra-thin, flexible MultiMoS sensing foils to detect and precisely localize leaks directly at critical interfaces. Instead of detecting liquid only after it has spread, the sensors can be integrated where leaks are most likely to occur. This enables early, spatially resolved detection for applications ranging from liquid cooling infrastructure in data centers and battery storage systems to production facilities and other fluid-based industrial systems.
New insights into battery behavior
A second FLEXOO focus at electronica is the role of mechanical data in understanding battery behavior.
On Thursday, November 12 at 14:40, Dr. Jean-Charles Flores will take the stage at the Printed Electronics Forum with the presentation “Real-Time Pressure Monitoring for Enhanced Battery Intelligence: Mechanical Indicators of SoC and SoH in Prismatic LFP Cells.” The session takes place on the Smart Mobility Stage in Hall B4.445.
The presentation builds on FLEXOO’s long-duration testing with prismatic LFP cells and explores what pressure measurements can add to conventional electrical and thermal battery data. By capturing the mechanical response of the cell during cycling, FLEXOO is investigating additional indicators for state of charge, ageing and state of health. The work is part of our broader approach to improving battery safety and battery intelligence through better access to real battery data.
