FLEXOO has been selected as a finalist in the Battery Innovation of the Year category at the 2026 Battery Show Awards in Detroit with its submission"Pressure-Powered Battery Intelligence."
The Battery Show Awards recognize innovations that advance battery technology and contribute to safer, more efficient, and more intelligent energy storage systems. According to the organizers, this year's awards attracted a highly competitive field of submissions.
Turning pressure into battery intelligence
FLEXOO's approach focuses on making pressure a usable source of battery intelligence. By integrating thin, printed pressure sensing directly into battery systems, previously inaccessible information can be captured and transformed into new insights for battery monitoring, performance optimization, and safety applications.
The concept complements the electrical and thermal data used today with an additional layer of information from inside the battery itself. This creates new opportunities to better understand battery behaviour under real-world operating conditions and to support more informed system-level decisions.
From sensing to Physical AI
The nomination reflects the growing importance of data-rich battery systems and the industry's interest in technologies that unlock information previously unavailable to battery developers and operators.
