FLEXOO welcomes Chinese media delegation in Heidelberg

Visit as part of the Sino-German Media Forum

As part of the 17th Sino-German Media Forum Study Tour, FLEXOO welcomed a delegation of Chinese media representatives to its headquarters in Heidelberg. The visit formed part of a broader program organized in cooperation with the City of Heidelberg and focused on science, innovation and technology transfer. InnovationLab and FLEXOO were included as an example of how research can be translated into industrial applications.

From innovation ecosystem to industrial application

During the visit, FLEXOO provided an overview of its development from an InnovationLab spin-off to a company working at the intersection of printed electronics, sensing technologies and Physical AI.

The presentation explored how intelligent industrial systems increasingly depend on access to physical-world data and how this data can support new capabilities in batteries, robotics and industrial automation.

Physical AI and physical-world data

A central topic of the discussion was Physical AI and the growing importance of physical-world data for intelligent systems.

FLEXOO introduced its approach to creating a scalable physical data layer through flexible sensing technologies capable of capturing physical interaction, force, pressure and mechanical behavior directly at the point where these processes occur.

The delegation also gained insights into how these technologies can contribute to battery intelligence, industrial monitoring and future robotics applications.

Demonstrators and use cases

Several demonstrators were presented during the visit, illustrating how physical-world data can be transformed into actionable information for intelligent systems.

Among the applications shown were battery intelligence use cases as well as robotics demonstrations highlighting how integrated sensing technologies can support interaction with soft and deformable objects.

These examples provided practical insights into the role of sensing technologies in future Physical AI systems.

Exchange and future collaboration

The visit concluded with an open discussion on technology development, innovation ecosystems and international industrial collaboration.

Particular attention was given to opportunities arising from Physical AI, advanced manufacturing and intelligent industrial systems, as well as the growing importance of international cooperation in these fields.

FLEXOO would like to thank all participants of the study tour for the inspiring exchange and their interest in the future of intelligent industrial technologies.
