co-pace, AUMOVIO’s global startup organization, has presented its inaugural co-pace Pioneering Partner Award to German technology company FLEXOO. The award recognizes FLEXOO’s highly successful collaboration with AUMOVIO’s Passive Safety and Sensorics product segment and its significant contribution to joint innovation. The partnership spans joint development, creation of commercially viable business models, and a long-term strategic outlook. The evaluation considered, among other factors, the results of joint development and validation activities, the commercial success achieved, and the strategic development of the partnership.

The new award recognizes startups that not only contribute innovative technologies but also work with AUMOVIO to create solutions with a lasting value. It considers the full lifecycle of a partnership, from technology selection and validation, through joint development projects and business models, to commercial impact and strategic collaboration. The evaluation is based on defined criteria, including the outcomes of joint development and validation activities, the creation of joint business models, the commercial success of the collaboration and the partnership’s progression toward strategic investment. 

From startup to strategic partner

FLEXOO stood out for its evolution from a promising startup into a strategic partner. Together with AUMOVIO, the company has advanced joint development activities, established viable business models, and has also laid the foundation for future market applications. AUMOVIO’s minority stake in FLEXOO further underscores the partnership’s long-term strategic potential. 

FLEXOO develops ultra-thin tactile sensor systems that detect physical interactions such as pressure, contact, and force. The technology creates a new data layer for intelligent systems, enabling applications in vehicle safety, sensor technology, and future data-driven functions.
